AI dependency

AI dependency

AI, short for Artificial Intelligence, is emerging as one of the most significant technological breakthroughs of this century. It has significantly improved our lives in various ways. However, our reliance on AI can also yield adverse effects. The more we integrate AI into our daily routines, the more dependent we become on it. Consider a student’s life as an example. Before AI became widespread, students sourced information from books and websites. Now, with AI-powered chatbots like ChatGPT, students easily and instantly access answers. This convenience, however, has resulted in a decline in students’ creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

To mitigate the adverse impact of AI, we can take specific measures. We should limit our reliance on AI by setting boundaries on the time spent using AI applications. Additionally, to cultivate problem-solving abilities and autonomy, we can acquire new skills, expand our knowledge, and explore alternative information sources. These steps can enhance our self-sufficiency and reduce our dependence on AI.
